Robert Encarnacao

Robert Encarnacao is a Principal Solutions Architect and Team Lead at Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP), where he serves as a global software modernization consultant and AI solutions architect. With over three decades of experience across software engineering, technical architecture, and enterprise consulting, Robert orchestrates complex modernization initiatives for organizations worldwide — advising C-suite executives on the strategic and technical dimensions of transitioning from legacy infrastructure to modern, cloud-native systems. Robert joined Mobilize.Net in 2010, where he spent over a decade leading migration projects that converted enterprise codebases from Visual Basic 6 to C# and VB.NET. When Growth Acceleration Partners acquired Mobilize.Net’s Application Migration Business Unit in 2023, Robert transitioned with the technology — bringing 13+ years of deep institutional knowledge of the migration platform, the customer engagement model, and the real-world patterns and pitfalls that enterprises encounter during large-scale modernization. He also serves as a direct report mentor to solutions architects on the engineering team. Before Mobilize.Net, Robert held progressively senior roles across the technology industry, including Director of Web & Software Engineering at ITS and technical leadership positions at World Travel Holdings. His career arc spans the full stack of enterprise IT — from hands-on software development and database consulting in the early 1990s through web architecture, IT project management, and senior technical architect roles at multiple organizations. On the GAPVelocity AI blog, Robert writes about topics that reflect this breadth: hybrid AI architecture for legacy modernization, Azure AI Foundry governance and developer strategy, Oracle Java licensing risks, and CIO-level AI adoption considerations. His perspective uniquely blends deep technical fluency with the strategic advisory lens that comes from decades of client-facing consulting. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Philosophy from Saint Michael’s College (1989–1993) and has presented at professional conferences on software modernization topics.
