Erika Carvajal

Erika Carvajal is the Vice President of Information Services at Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP), where she oversees the technology infrastructure, process optimization, and operational systems that support GAP’s global software development and modernization practice. With over 17 years at the company — she joined as a web developer in 2009 — Erika is one of GAP’s longest-tenured team members and has played a central role in the organization’s growth from a boutique development shop to a global enterprise software partner. Before moving into her current role, Erika spent seven years as VP of Delivery, where she was responsible for ensuring that project teams delivered quality, transparency, value, and an exceptional client experience from ideation to launch. In that capacity, she established multiple Software Centers of Excellence across Costa Rica and Colombia, building the delivery infrastructure that supports GAP’s nearshore development model. Her approach emphasizes Agile methodology, team empowerment through mentorship and coaching, and a relentless focus on client outcomes. Erika’s career trajectory — from hands-on web developer to VP of Delivery to VP of Information Services — gives her a unique end-to-end perspective on enterprise software delivery. She understands both the technical realities of building and maintaining software systems and the operational challenges of scaling delivery across distributed teams and geographies. This dual lens is particularly relevant to GAPVelocity AI’s mission, where successful modernization requires not just code migration but also delivery process transformation. Erika holds multiple certifications from the Scrum Alliance, reflecting her deep commitment to Agile practices. She has over a decade of hands-on software engineering experience in addition to her leadership career. She is based in Curridabat, Costa Rica, where she leads GAP’s information services operations and continues to champion the company’s culture of collaborative excellence.
