William Quesada

William Quesada is the Director of Product Engineering at Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP), where he leads the technical development of GAPVelocity AI’s suite of enterprise modernization tools. With over 25 years of software engineering and product development experience, William oversees the architecture and delivery of the AI-powered migration products that help enterprises transform legacy codebases — including the VB6 AI Migrator, PowerBuilder AI Migrator, and the ByteInsight codebase analysis platform. William’s career in application modernization began at Mobilize.Net, where he progressed from Software Engineer to Technical Lead to Manager of Product Development. During his tenure at Mobilize.Net, he worked directly on the code transpilation and migration technologies that would become the foundation of GAPVelocity AI’s platform. When Growth Acceleration Partners acquired Mobilize.Net’s Application Migration Business Unit in 2023, William transitioned with the technology — bringing deep institutional knowledge of the codebase, the migration methodology, and the real-world edge cases that enterprise customers encounter when modernizing millions of lines of legacy code. His technical writing reflects this hands-on engineering depth. William’s work on GAPVelocity AI’s blog includes detailed analysis of hybrid AI architecture for enterprise modernization — comparing deterministic transpilation against generative AI approaches like GitHub Copilot and Claude, with real benchmarking data showing how LLMs perform (and where they break down) on large-scale codebases exceeding 1,000 lines. William holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Tecnológico de Costa Rica (one of Central America’s top engineering universities) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree from the same institution. He is based in Costa Rica, where he works alongside GAP’s engineering team to build the AI-powered tools that power the company’s modernization practice.
